For those in Idaho who take delight in all things related to our cosmos, there's a rare opportunity to view six planets at once Saturday night if the approaching storm system holds off until after sunset.

Where are my space geeks at? I'm one too, so this weekend is massive because there's going to be a chance (weather permitting) to view six planets in the sky, and two of them with the naked eye, according to the BBC.

The current Twin Falls forecast is calling for increasing clouds later in the afternoon Saturday (Feb 28), which means southern Idaho stargazers might get to see this rare alignment just as the sun goes down around 6:25 P.M.

If all goes well and the approaching system doesn't cloud up southern Idaho skies too early, then Gem Staters will have little trouble spotting the alignment.

Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Neptune, Jupiter, and Uranus will appear at different times in the western sky. A few of the planets will remain visible for a couple of nights after Saturday as well.

There is always the chance that the view is impeded by cloud cover, but it'll be worth prepping for if we get that weather window to witness the event. Right now, there's about a 70 percent chance of sky blockage from clouds by sunset tomorrow.

Here's to hoping for a better outcome weatherwise Saturday night.

Places To Get Really High Around Twin Falls

Since marijuana is still illegal in Idaho, you can’t legally walk down the street and get high, but there's another way to get high around Twin Falls that is much more socially acceptable.
