TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – Shawn Barigar will retain the mayor’s seat.

The Twin Falls City Council re-elected Barigar as mayor on Tuesday evening. It also elected Nikki Boyd to serve as vice-mayor. Formerly, that title was held by Councilwoman Suzanne Hawkins.

Barigar received three votes for the mayor position, Hawkins received two votes and Councilman Chris Talkington received one vote.

Incumbent council members Hawkins, Greg Lanting and Chris Reid also were sworn in for four-year terms on the council.

“Thank you for the support and the opportunity in this somewhat uncomfortable sausage making, but as Councilman Talkington would say, local government works and we made it through that, so thank you for your support,” Barigar said after the voting.
