Batman: Arkham Knight Trailer: Release Delayed, DLC Revealed
Rocksteady Studios has posted an amazing new gameplay trailer for Batman: Arkham Knight. While the Dark Knight has been delayed, we have learned some new details about its Harley Quinn-filled DLC.
The new Batman: Arkham Knight gameplay video starts off with the Caped Crusader meeting with Commissioner Gordon, talking about Scarecrow's known plans of trying to detonate a massive, chemical weapon somewhere in Gotham. It's up to Batman and the Gotham City Police Department (mainly just Batman, of course) to find out where Scarecrow plans to launch his diabolical plans. Bruce then talks with Gordon's little girl, Oracle (the former Batgirl), via a video communicator about what he plans on doing.
After the chat, Batman glides through Gotham's skies, searching for a missing cop, until he spots a group of criminals ready to kill Gordon's cornered employee. In mid-flight, Batman uses the Line Launcher, popping up a tightrope right above the group so he can listen to what they say to one another. Upon entering combat, we find that Arkham's signature combat system has grown. Just watch what the Bat does with... a bat. After Batman rescues the police officer, the video showcases some impressive-looking Batmobile gameplay. We should note that Gotham finally has a population of citizens on its streets, though most of the masses have already evacuated the city.
Amazon's listing of Batman: Arkham Knight now has a description of the Harley Quinn pre-order DLC, which reads as follows:
For the first time in the Arkham series take on the role of Joker’s psychotic side-kick Harley Quinn and wreak havoc inside the Blüdhaven Police Department. With this exclusive Story Pack experience events in the lead-up to Arkham Knight as you infiltrate Blüdhaven to rescue your partner in crime: Poison Ivy. Delve deep into Harley’s demented nature and utilize her devastating baseball bat to smash, crash and bash your way to a friend very much in need.
Unfortunately, Rocksteady has announced that Batman: Arkham Knight has been delayed a few weeks. In all honesty, we don't mind as long as it turns out to be as stellar as we hope it will.
Batman: Arkham Knight will now launch on June 23 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
