Bone Marrow Drive, Rally For Southern Idaho Girl Is Tue (Feb 24)
A bone marrow drive and rally is planned for a southern Idaho family that includes an 8-year-old girl with an extremely rare immunodeficiency that requires constant medical care. If you can give just a few minutes of your time on Tuesday (February 24), you might be able to help improve, prolong, or even save the life of a local girl.
As a father to two kids of my own, I'm asking residents of southern Idaho to do what they can to show up at an event in Ketchum on Tuesday, between 8 A.M. and 12:30 P.M., to get tested to see if a potential bone marrow donor might be a suitable fit for Charile Everson, a young girl from the Hailey area.
The bone marrow drive is taking place just 12 miles north of Hailey in Ketchum, at the Wood River Community YMCA, at 101 Saddle Road. Registration is not mandatory, and drop-ins are encouraged.

Charlie has a rare condition called STAT1 Gain-of-Function (GOF), which is extremely uncommon. Recent medical advances may help Charlie soon, but for now, she needs a compatible bone marrow donor. A simple mouth swab is all it will take on Tuesday to be tested and begin the process.
For those who can't make it to Ketchum in person, you can text Charlie5B to 61474 to receive a swab kit at your residence. Please help the family spread the word.
We send the family and young Charlie our thoughts and prayers from Townsquare Media.
