A California homeowner has a lot of explaining to do after members of a cleaning crew found numerous boxes of methamphetamine in one of the rooms. The amount of drugs found has been reported to be close to 250 pounds.

A cleaning team working in a residence in Alhambra came across 235 pounds of methamphetamine packed into more than 20 sealed boxes. Alhambra is located 10 miles east of Los Angeles. The home was listed on the travel lodging rental website Airbnb when the discovery was made, according to details shared by The Mercury News.

While I believe the crew did the right thing by contacting authorities over the matter, if I were one of the cleaning staffers on the clock that day I might be researching disguises and fake identification for a trip to the most remote part of Alaska for say... the next 30 years.

I've scrolled through home listings on Airbnb a few times since the company launched in 2008, but I've never heard of any property owners forgetting to disclose two dozen boxes of illegal drugs on the premises. The fact that a staff of house cleaners just happened to open a door to numerous boxes of methamphetamine neatly packed and sealed spells big-time trouble for whoever was responsible for leaving them out so nonchalantly.

This is the type of story that has the capability of costing people their lives. While I believe the crew did the right thing by contacting authorities over the matter, if I were one of the cleaning staffers on the clock that day I might be researching disguises and fake identification for a trip to the most remote part of Alaska for say... the next 30 years.
