
California Drivers In Idaho Are Still Very Paranoid: Opinion
It's well known that Californians are continuing to settle in the Gem State in attempts to flee outrageous home and utility costs. With this transition, comes a certain level of paranoia.
I moved to Idaho from the Sacramento area in 2016. My wife's family has been rooted in Idaho for close to 100 years, so she was the one to first introduce me to the Gem State. We made the mutual decision to move to Twin Falls just before our daughter started high school.
For the first couple years I lived here, I drove around with California plates on my truck, and aside from one dude saying 'When are you going to change your plates?,' I was never hassled by anyone. There are the occasional times when a local messes with a 'transplant's' ride, but that's happening in every state.
Californians Continue To Drive With Great Paranoia In Idaho

I was on my way to a favorite local pub with my wife the other day when we walked past a vehicle with California plates. My wife started laughing and asked me to look at the back of the car.

'No, I'm Not! It's a rental,' a homemade sign read to the left of the license plate. The state of the car lead me to believe that it was not a rental, but instead, an attempt at a low budget security system.
As an Idahoan, do you think Californians are too paranoid about driving in the Gem State, or is it warranted?
