ID, WA, UT Bug Illness Can Prove Fatal In Days
Along with the final days of spring comes ideal weather for bugs to flourish in Southern Idaho. One area pest, in particular, can spread a severe disease that if not treated quickly can prove fatal.
No one likes bug bites. They get irritated, itchy, and often can leave permanent scars. As the spring season transitions into summer, it might be the worst time of year for creepy crawlies.
Years ago, I was standing in my kitchen looking in the refrigerator when I felt a strange sensation on my forearm. Upon inspection, I discovered that a tick had dug its head into my skin. There was a large, grassy pasture outside my home that my dogs used to run around in, and that's how I believe it made its way in doors.

There are several different types of these buggers. Lyme Disease is a very serious illness that ticks spread, but Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever (RMSF) might be the most dangerous disease these tiny pests can spread.
Fever, nausea, severe skin rashes, altered consciousness, and even death can result from being infected by RMSF, and it can kill a person in just a couple days.
To properly treat a tick bite, follow these instructions from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
