Seeing Chris Metzen, Blizzard Entertainment's Senior VP of Story and Franchise Development, surface at this week's PlayStation Meeting was almost as shocking as Janet Leigh's unexpected demise in Psycho. Even if most PC gamers are frustrated with Diablo 3's dabbling into the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 universe, the console train keeps chugging along, as a few PS3 screenshots of Diablo 3 have been released.

A recent post on Battle.net divulges that Diablo 3 for PlayStation consoles will feature the same gameplay from the main PC title, as well as all its updates, "including Paragon levels, the Infernal Machine event, Monster Power, Brawling, and more." Customized controls for PlayStation gamers have also been tweaked, and in the words of Metzen, "Diablo 3 has really never been easier to play."

Fans of the franchise are probably excited to play Diablo 3's four player co-op mode, and the PS3 version makes its official debut next month at PAX East.

Do you feel Blizzard Entertainment's collaboration with Sony will yield intriguing results, or is this relationship doomed to fail like Cloud Atlas? We'd love to hear your thoughts! Until then, here's a few more PlayStation 3 screenshots of Diablo III.
