Dio Disciples Rich With Rock Royalty
Ronnie James Dio was a true legend. His influence is truly immeasurable in rock n’ roll, his songwriting, his style, his persona, his graciousness. Obviously his iconic songs will live forever, and now even more so thanks to the Dio Disciples.
Dio Disciples are a new band made up of some great players, with a long list of accomplishments. Dio drummer Simon Wright has played with AC/DC, UFO, Michael Schenker Group, and Rhino Bucket; Longtime Dio member Craig Goldy (David Lee Roth) will handle guitar duties; 15 year Dio and Heaven & Hell keyboard veteran Scott Warren joins the band; James LoMenzo (Megadeth, Black Label Society, Slash’s Snakepit, David Lee Roth, White Lion) will play bass; Tom “Ripper” Owens (Judas Priest, Yngwie Malmsteen’s Rising Force) and Toby Jepson (Little Angels, Fastway) will share vocal duties. Bassist Rudy Sarzo, who is currently busy with Blue Oyster Cult, will also join the band at a later date.
