The NFL Wants Artists to Pay To Perform at the Superbowl Half-Time Show?

In an almost M. Night Shyamalan type twist, there is a rumor running rampant that the NFL wants to charge performers of the Super Bowl half-time show. Normally it is just a freebie. The artist performs for free and the NFL gets all the benefit. Now though - that would mean that if Paul McCartney (or any artist) wanted to be the artist owning the stage mid game - he would have to pay the NFL for that privilege and not them paying him for the privilege!?

This 'news' comes on the heels of an awesome petition online to have Weird Al be the performer.

On that note - at last check there were almost 130,000 signatures supporting Weird Al as the performer!

Despite those numbers - according to the Wall Street Journal -  it is looking like they are eye balling either Rihanna, Katy Perry, or Coldplay.
