Domestic Violence Deaths Are on the Rise in Idaho
NAMPA, Idaho (AP) — The number of domestic violence deaths in Idaho is on the rise. The Idaho Press-Tribune reports 11 people have been killed across the state so far this year in domestic violence incidents — more than in 2016, 2015 and 2014 annually. Figures are on pace to finish higher than last year. In all of 2017, 17 people died as a result of domestic violence. Five people in Idaho were fatally shot Thursday in domestic violence incidents. Four of the five deaths were two couples who died in separate murder-suicides. Idaho Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence records show seven people have died from domestic violence in the Treasure Valley so far this year. They make up more than half of the 11 domestic violence deaths so far this year in Idaho.
