Idaho is home to a large number of bridges, and many of them offer stunning views. One in particular that can be found less than 200 miles north of Grangeville is said to link two shorelines known for being great spots to fish.

Fly fishing is a religion for many Idahoans. The connection between fishing and nature is a strong one. There aren't very many outdoor hobbies that compare to the feeling of immersing yourself in waist deep water and striking up a chess match with a trout.

Although I haven't fished in a long time, I did spend some time fly fishing in the nineties when my mother ran a shop that specialized in the hobby. I instantly appreciated the activity and learned firsthand why so many people prefer this style to others; fly fishing is almost a form of meditation.

According to the American Road & Transportation Builders Association Idaho is home to over 4,600 bridges. Twin Falls has perhaps the most famous bridge in the state, the Perrine Bridge. At close to 500 feet tall, it's not one a person can fish off, and is instead a mecca for BASE jumping.

The Hoyt Bridge was built over the St. Joe River, which is known for its wild trout. The closest major Idaho city to the bridge is Coeur d'Alene, which is roughly 90 miles to the  northwest. It can be found near the community of Avery.

New Lands Purchased For City Of Rocks

The two land purchases will bring the total area of the City of Rocks to 14,512 acres. Visitors can access the new lands immediately from the county road or from Indian Grove until the access road is completed in the upcoming year.
