The Mojave Desert in California is home to several mineral springs and resorts catering to those pursuing reverse aging. One abandoned resort approximately 170 miles east of Los Angeles has experienced reported claims of mystical-type healing powers dating back to the nineteen forties.

The Fountain of Youth is just a myth to most of us. To think that there lies a spring somewhere in the world with waters that have the power to give eternal life to those who drink or bathe in it is far-fetched for many. If such a place did exist, the people who have already discovered it would be doing everything in their power to safeguard it and keep it out of public knowledge; I'd be one selfish bastard too if I knew of its location.

I'm not telling people to trespass or anything, but maybe there's something behind the claims. With Las Vegas just two hours away, that might make for an interesting road trip.

The great thing about having our own brains is that we have the power to believe what we want to, regardless of what know-it-all types try to convince us of. If people want to believe they've discovered a product or natural solution to aging, then more power to them.

I've passed a road several times in my life when traveling between Las Vegas and Los Angeles that has always mystified me. The offramp is named Zzyzx, and it's pronounced "zei-zix," and leads travelers to an old, abandoned mineral resort founded by a Los Angeles radio evangelist in 1944, according to localadventurer.com. Some who used to stay there have gone on record with claims of Fountain of Youth-like healing powers.

The area still contains mineral springs but is now owned by the Bureau of Land Management. I'm not telling people to trespass or anything, but maybe there's something behind the claims. With Las Vegas just two hours away, that might make for an interesting road trip.
