I respect those who pick up and properly dispose of our weekly waste. I wouldn't want to do it myself, but I understand there's a good deal of money to be made if dues are paid and advancements are achieved.

I think of some of the crap I throw out from time to time and I instantly feel guilty for the person who is responsible for collecting it at 6:00 A.M. Of course, trucks have gotten more advanced and contact with actual waste is at a minimum. The days of two dudes hanging off the back of a truck and dumping cans with their bare hands are long gone.

Buzzfeed put together a list of taboo trash that no man or woman handling human waste ever wants to come across. Our garbage guy gets upset if our cans aren't exactly three feet apart, so I can only imagine what he'd think if he ends up reading this.
Anything having to do with human or pet waste (cat litter, dog poop, diapers) is automatic, and did find its way onto Buzzfeed's rancid lineup. Liquids, such as that days-old, broth or gravy, aren't very welcome sights according to the website, and are never supposed to be tossed in a garbage bag.
Other honorable mentions include rotten meats, maggot-laden dead animals in the yard waste, and pungent chemicals. Dead bodies, which are the very definition of human waste, might also inspire trash collectors and handlers to give two weeks' notice.
