Everyone Thinks Idaho School Is Haunted Except People Who Go There

A high school in southern Idaho has developed an image as one of the most haunted properties in the country. Feedback from teenagers who were actually enrolled in the school and spent over 700 days in classrooms earning diplomas tells a different story.

There is perhaps no other academic institution in America that has earned more notoriety for being a paranormal hotspot than Pocatello High School, located 230 miles southeast of Boise. From unexplained security camera footage to a visit from one of the most-watched ghost shows on television, the school has developed a supernatural lore.

The Internet is full of podcasts and short features on Pocatello High School, and most of them have to do with hauntings of some sort. The website Only In Idaho featured a story a while back that claims the school is haunted by a girl who took her own life. Alleged shadows, mysterious sounds at night, lights malfunctioning, and toilets flushing by themselves are all part of the school's paranormal mystique.

Footage went viral in 2014 from a hallway camera that some believe shows a shadow figure walking after hours. The Ghost Hunters crew did an investigation there in 2019 and claimed to have uncovered some signs of ghostly activity in an episode titled 'School Spirit.'

Yet, when you read the comments from people who actually attended school there, as in a Reddit post from a few years ago, they are overwhelmingly skeptical.
