When traveling by car at night, our minds can play tricks on us, especially if we're passing through an unfamiliar, remote area.

There have been multiple occasions where I've been tired behind the wheel on a long road trip through the desert, and I thought I caught a glimpse of something bizarre along the side of the highway. And who knows, maybe what I saw was legitimate, but I've never let my foot off the gas long enough to find out.

Multiple residents of a southeastern Idaho community have taken to social media to inform locals about a large, unusual figure they've seen in the darkness near the roadside. These reports have come out of the Idaho Falls area.

The strange bipedal being has been nicknamed 'The Idaho Falls Goobler,' not to be confused with the word 'gobbler,' which is another name for a turkey. Images of this thing were shared recently on the Meta page of 'Life in Idaho Falls!'

'Out of all the names, we got Goobler,' said one local on the social media chain.

'So, it's blurry like Bigfoot then?,' responded another.

'It's real folks. I've seen it in my neighborhood. And at my back door,' wrote another who posted a comment.
