IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — The Idaho Falls man shot by police officers in June has made his first appearance in court on charges stemming from an incident prior to the shooting.

The Post Register reports 31-year-old Ricky Mosley, who appeared in court Wednesday via video, is charged with felony domestic battery inflicting traumatic injury. His bond was set at $50,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 29.

Police had pulled Mosley over at a gas station June 29 after responding to a report that he had hit a pregnant woman. Mosley got out of his vehicle and drew his hands forward into a shooting stance while holding a cellphone that officers mistook for a weapon. The officers opened fire.

Mosley was discharged from the hospital Tuesday after being treated for gunshot wounds.
