BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter says he has accepted Donald Trump's apology after a video tape surfaced last week that captured him making vulgar and sexually charged comments about women.

The Republican governor released a brief statement Tuesday saying that Trump's comments are unacceptable, but he will continue to support the GOP presidential nominee because he is the best candidate. Otter is currently serving as co-chair of Trump's Idaho campaign.

U.S. Rep. Raul Labrador and Idaho's GOP Chairman Steve Yates also issued statements Tuesday saying they could not condone Trump's remarks, but would continue supporting the nominee over Hillary Clinton.

Over the weekend, two Idaho GOP congressmen pulled their Trump support. U.S. Sen. Mike Crapo rescinded his endorsement on Saturday. U.S. Rep. Mike Simpson called Trump unfit to be president on Sunday.
