BOISE (KTVB) -- Idaho lawmakers are starting the 2016 legislative session with a lesson in civility.

House Speaker Scott Bedke of Oakley says legislative leaders have held workshops at the beginning of each session for the past four years. Bedke added that that he believes Idaho lawmakers are already fairly civil, but it doesn't hurt to have a reminder.

Carolyn Lukensmeyer, executive director of the National Institute for Civil Discourse, says Tuesday's event will focus solely on how lawmakers interact with each other and not the media or the public.
