Idaho Men Damage Pavement with Bonfire
KUNA, Idaho (AP) — Two southwest Idaho men police say started a bonfire on a city street that melted the pavement are facing a fine of $300 and 10 days in jail.
Police in Kuna cited 31-year-old Gregory Mcatee and 47-year-old Timothy Cope after responding to an address at about 11 p.m. Saturday to find several people standing around a bonfire in the road in a cul-de-sac.
Police say Cope told officers he built the fire, and Mcatee said he put his Christmas tree in the fire. Ada County Highway District officials estimate the damage at $1,000 and say they will seek reimbursement for repairs. Kuna fire crews put out the fire.
