
Ages 11 to 15 Reported Missing Most, Annual Idaho Report Finds
An annual report released by the Idaho State Police reveals eye-opening data on the number of active cases still being worked that were carried over from 2025, as well as the ages of those most frequently reported missing in the Gem State each year.
Detectives throughout Idaho follow up on hundreds of missing person reports a year. There is a widely held myth that people must wait between 24 and 48 hours before reporting a person missing. Acting quickly can make the difference in locating a lost loved one, so reporting this information to local police in a timely manner is encouraged.
Generally, within the first 12 weeks of a new calendar year, the annual Missing Persons Report from the previous year is usually released by the ISP. The year 2025 was another busy one for Idaho law enforcement working missing persons cases statewide.

Idaho Police Are Still Working Well Over 100 Missing Persons Cases From 2025, Says Report
According to the annual report from the ISP, detectives are still working on over 150 missing persons cases from 2025. The age group most frequently reported missing in Idaho each year is the 11 to 15-year-olds, and Caucasian males make up the largest percentage, according to the findings.

Additionally, 1,728 reports in total were filed in 2025 by Idaho police, according to the report released March 6, 2026. A large percentage of these individuals were located in the days following the reports.
May was the month last year that Idaho police received the most missing persons reports, according to the data.
