Having Sex In Idaho While ‘Single’? You’re Breaking The Law
Sex.
People have it. It's completely normal. It doesn't have to be a shocking word or headline.
That is, of course, unless you're single.
Let us explain.
Perhaps you've heard stories about how it's illegal in Idaho to be engaged with a kiss with someone for over 18 minutes. Sounds kind of fun, but it's not true. That law doesn't exist. Or how about how a man is legally forbidden from giving a box of candy weighing less than 50 lbs to his special somebody. Again, not true.
This law, however, is very true and very likely is affecting your personal life right now.
Let's look up good ol' Idaho Title 16-6603, which makes it illegal for Idahoans to have sexual relations out of wedlock. We already did the work for you, don't worry. It reads:
Any unmarried person who shall have such relations with an unmarried person of the opposite sex shall be deemed guilty of fornication.
Yes. You're reading that correctly.
By the way. If you're feeling high and mighty and wanting to challenge Title 16-6603, if found guilty, you could face up to a $300 fine and even up to six months in jail.
Now, is this law being enforced? No, not that we're aware of.
However, don't be surprised if you get caught bumpin' uglies with that guy you met at the bar and you end up in jail simply because neither of you are currently married.

If you're married, great! You can legally get it on with your spouse.
But there are a few spots in and around Boise that'll very much make you want to keep it in your pants.
