Want To Save A Life In Idaho? Secure Your Load
One would think that the following thought would be fairly common amongst Idahoans who operate motor vehicles:
Gee, I just loaded up my truck bed with a bunch of heavy, loose stuff. I should probably make sure it's secure before I hit the road.
Again, seems like common sense, doesn't it? Well, we're writing this article, so clearly it is not.
Wait, so National Secure Your Load Day is an actual thing?
Yep, every year!
June 6th is "National Secure Your Load Day," and the Idaho Transportation Department's Office of Highway Safety would very much like you recognize said date.
Why? In the past few years in Idaho alone, there have been 80+ injuries and two deaths resulting from motorists not properly securing stuff in the beds of their trucks.
Even if you don't like to take the time to tie down your stuff, too bad. It's actually Idaho law that you do so.
