Don't worry. Even though it may seem like 2025 is a complete dumpster fire, and everything is terrible, there's no need to fret. As Idaho lawmakers are currently tackling the most important issues facing Idahoans today.

You know, like forcing your children to learn how to write in cursive. Thanks a bunch, guys.

Um, what's happening? Why is Idaho passing laws about writing in cursive?

We have absolutely no flippin' clue, but it's something they're doing.

As of July 1st, a new law will be in effect here in Idaho which states that Idaho students in public schools must learn cursive handwriting by the end of fifth grade.

Why?

I'm going to do something us writers don't normally do: Have an opinion.

Here's why: Because it's stupid. Because there are 10,000,000 we as Idahoans, and Americans, currently need help with, but this is the stuff lawmakers are wasting their time on.

Working two jobs and can't afford to feed your kids? Well, hey, at least they'll be able to sign their name correctly on those future job applications.

If you're not mad about Idaho lawmakers dilly-dallying with B.S. laws they're passing simply to pass the time, maybe this will irk you.

lot of parents of students enrolled in Idaho schools were surprised to find out that their kids are very likely being transported to school by electric busses.

Now, is this a major issue? No, not really. Did that stop a bunch of parents from getting super pissed anyway and screaming on social media? No. No it did not.
