If you're shopping for a used vehicle in 2025, it doesn't matter where you buy it, right?

The average price for a pre-owned car or truck should be the same anywhere you go, right?

*insert gameshow "wrong" buzzer*

Nope. Would you believe that, on average, used vehicles cost significantly more in Idaho? Well, believe it.

How is it that used vehicles' average price is higher in Idaho than other states?

Good question.

According to World Population Review, auto prices by state can fluctuate by a decent amount, and for a variety of reasons:

  • Demand
  • Market conditions
  • Local regulations

Most states in the U.S. have an average vehicle price of around $34,000 for a pre-owned vehicle in 2025. That average price in Idaho? Yep. It's higher. As in, it's around $40,000 on average. You can see how that's a huge difference.

Some of the least expensive vehicles in the country can be found in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Ohio.

Sure, we get it. Some of these used vehicles are vastly overpriced in 2025. However, could you imagine owning and driving the Weinermobile on a day-to-day basis? There's no amount of money we wouldn't spend...

Love Idaho? So do we! It's amazing to live here. Gorgeous scenery, kind people, and a million things to do.

Oh, and also, a traffic situation that can kiss my whole entire butt. Because it sucks, it's awful, and I hate it.

Ok, this is so stupid, and we're absolutely here for it.

If Idaho cities were cars, what cars would they be?

If Idaho Cities Were Cars, What Would They Be?

We absolutely love it when the internet shines a little light on Idaho. Many people, it seems, can tend to forget that we exist and when we are acknowledged, it seems that there is always an entertaining insight into just WHAT exactly the outsiders think of the place we call home.
A video that is posted up on TikTok has been viewed by hundreds of thousands of users and we have to admit--this feels pretty spot on.
