There's nothing quite like it. Hitting the open road in Idaho, windows down, radio blasting, just cruising along. Until you realize your rear-view mirror is now filled with red and blue flashing lights, because you're getting pulled over for speeding.

Idaho State Police are on the lookout, and this could be your immediate future, if you aren't obeying posted speed limit signs.

So, what exactly is going on with Idaho State Police and speeders?

This week begins a statewide vigilant search for speeders on Idaho roads, as ISP is hoping to get drivers to both slow down and drive more cautiously.

So far in 2025, there have been 126 traffic fatalities, compared with 113 at this time in 2024. Obviously, that's a big uptick, and a big problem.

While you should never speed on Idaho roads, know that this current crackdown on speeding vehicles lasts through July 26th.
