Construction and road work is constantly happening in the Magic Valley. Some roads need to be repaired every spring after the harsh winter weather, and some roads and projects have been being worked on for years. Some projects feel like they will never be done, and others seem to last a while but eventually get completed. It can be frustrating for residents in the Magic Valley to get to and from work, dropping kids off at school, or running errands. Another major road is set to start construction soon and will be closed for months, making driving in the area that much more irritating.

For those that live west of Twin Falls, specifically west and north of Filer, 4100 N is a street that many use to get in and out of town. It is one of, if not the fastest route for most to get to the hospital, Costco, and Walmart. The road has been closed off and on over the last couple of months, and even when open has likely done some severe damage to many vehicles as there has been loose gravel and potholes on the road. It has been a nightmare to navigate not knowing day-to-day if it is open or closed, but beginning Monday, April 28 it will be closed for the next few months, making getting in and out of Buhl and to homes in the area difficult.

While this closure will push vehicles to 4200 and HWY 30, it won't be the only street closed for those going into Buhl. 1400 is also currently closed until the beginning of May, forcing drivers that take that way into town to find an alternative route, which could potentially push them over towards HWY 30 as well. Many drivers are being funneled to the same roads, meaning residents in those areas should expect a longer commute to work, to Twin Falls, and for those visiting the area. Make sure to give yourself extra time when heading to and from Buhl during the next couple of weeks and months while these projects take place.

It isn't going to be fun to be on the road this spring and summer in the Magic Valley, as these are not the only two projects taking place currently, with many others happening as well or set to happen soon. Be patient, drive safe, and hopefully there are no delays when it comes to the road work in the Magic Valley. For more on road closures and traffic, make sure to click the link above.
