Certain things in life are unpredictable. No matter how much studying you do, research, or guessing, you never fully know the truth. One of the most unpredictable things about living in Idaho is the weather. No matter how much you trust your favorite weather person, or no matter how long you have lived in Idaho, the weather does what it wants, when it wants in the Gem State. Most that have lived here know that you deal with the weather as it comes and only take it one day at a time and never look too far ahead. With the nice weather recently, it has many asking if winter is over in Idaho for this season or is more on the way.

Lately, the weather has been decently pleasant in the Gem State. The Magic Valley recently saw a weekend in the mid to high 50s and even in the low 60s and certain areas. It has given residents a taste of spring and has many going outside to play catch, go for a walk, a bike ride, a hike, or enjoy time outdoors. While this winter hasn't been as bad as most, it has still been chilly enough, but with temperatures rising and the sun shining, many are hopeful that winter is done in the Gem State. Before you get too excited and start putting your winter clothes away, it may not be over just yet.

Looking ahead, the weather looks to be good going forward, with some scattered rain and snow flurries in the coming week in the Magic Valley. With how warm the ground has been, it is unlikely to stick around long, if at all. Looking ahead for the next two weeks, it looks like a mix of winter and spring weather with half the days being in the low to mid-40s and others being in the low to mid-50s. Overall, the winter weather appears to be in the past, which will make many residents happy in the Magic Valley.

The weather may be getting nicer, but with many mountains around the area, there will still be plenty of snow and winter activities for those who want to enjoy them. While it appears that spring is arriving, remember, Idaho weather is unpredictable and can change in a second, making all of the forecasts and weather people look silly. Don't be surprised if a random snow day is still on the horizon, despite what is predicted.
