Rupert, Idaho becomes one of the most festive places in the world starting November 25th. Rupert turns into "Christmas City, USA" and it is full of a ton of fun events and family activities.

Christmas City, USA Is Rupert

Starting on November 25th, you can start ice skating on the plaza and times will vary. There will also be hay rides, choirs, live nativity scenes, shopping, and of course Christmas movies. There are plenty of things to do from November 25th through New Year's Eve when the Beet Drops

Kick Off Christmas Tree Lighting

The Christmas Tree Lighting with fireworks and chili is on November 25th. The event will be in the main plaza where you can actually hang out with Santa himself while you do a little shopping and eat some delicious chili. Fireworks should start around 7 pm barring any complications like wind or rain.

More Christmas To Be Had

The Christmas City Market will be running until the beginning of December. You can do some shopping, ice skate, try food trucks, see carolers, and be part of the holiday fun. There are Christmas Movies that will be played at the Wilson Theater. They will be playing the movie Elf at 2 pm and 7 pm on December 3rd. They do ask that you bring new clean socks or canned goods as admission to give to those in need, otherwise, it is free.

A cookie decorating class will be on December 8th at the Wilson Theater along with the Oakley Valley Choir, the Messiah Sing-Along, and a ton of other fun family events. New Year's Eve

Twin Falls and Boise do a potato drop, and Rupert does a Beet Drop. December 31st from 6 pm until midnight there will be a giant party to celebrate the end of the year. The giant sugar beet will drop at the stroke of midnight and the turn of the new year.
