Anxiety and stress overwhelm many of us, and everybody has different ways of dealing with it. For some, they need a day off work to rest and escape society, while others may need therapy, medication, or other treatments. Some face their anxiety and stress head on and try to treat it, while others are in denial and try to escape it and hide it. One common way that has helped handle these diseases is by finding an emotional support animal to help calm them and deal with the anxiety that life throws their way. Recently, someone took their emotional support animal to the airport, and it wasn't one that you would expect to see roaming around the airport.

Emotional Support Llamas Roam Portland Airport

Most people with emotional support animals go the route of a dog, a cat, or perhaps a bunny or a bird, but from time to time, a different type of animal will pop up. Recently, two women were spotted in the Portland International Airport with their emotional support llamas. Before you panic at the possibility of sitting on the plane for a few hours next to these llamas, they did not get on a flight that day. The llamas are brought to the airport every so often to help travelers with anxiety, and the hope is that some time with the llamas will help calm their nerves.

While a llama is not a common emotional support animal, it shows that finding the right partner for you is important, especially if you live with anxiety, depression, stress, and other issues that cause you to be uncomfortable day to day. Finding an animal that helps calm you, relaxes you, and helps you forget about the negativity in your life is the goal, and often having an emotional support animal can do that. Petting a dog or cat, or having something to cuddle can help lower depression, loneliness, and anxiety. A llama might be a little much and would make traveling tough, but if that is the animal that calms you, then that is what you need.
