Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-86 Near Declo
Idaho State Police (ISP) is investigating a multi-vehicle crash that occurred on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 2:17 p.m. on westbound Interstate 86 near milepost 12, east of Declo, Idaho.
Details of the Crash
The crash involved a red 2003 Subaru Legacy driven by a 43-year-old woman from Englewood, Colorado, and a gray 2018 Buick Enclave operated by a juvenile from Boise, Idaho. Both vehicles were traveling westbound when they collided, leaving the roadway and rolling.

Accident on 1-86 Tragically Claims 43-year-old Woman
Tragically, the driver of the Subaru was not wearing a seatbelt and succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The driver of the Buick, who was wearing a seatbelt, was unharmed and did not require transportation to a medical facility.
Agencies Responding to the Scene
ISP was assisted by multiple agencies, including the Cassia County Sheriff’s Office, Intermountain Health Ambulance, Malta Ambulance, and Malta Fire Department. ISP expressed gratitude for the support of these agencies during the response.
