College Teams in ID, WA, and UT Prepare for Tournament
For many sports fans, it is nearly their favorite time of the year. It is time to fill out a bracket and watch the chaos ensue for March Madness. The NCAA College Basketball Tournament is one of the biggest thrills of the year, and even those who aren't avid sports fans enjoy filling out a bracket and watching upsets occur. It is exciting to see if your team will advance and to see if your bracket can remain perfect. It is also fun to see who will come out of nowhere and ruin all the brackets as they make a Cinderella-like run. Not every team makes the tournament, and it can be devastating when your team is left out. Teams in Idaho, Washington, and Utah are currently preparing for a basketball tournament in March and into April, and it has fans excited.
Boise State Men's Basketball Season Continues
No, Boise State did not make the NCAA Tournament, and it has many fans upset, as they were one of the first four teams out, after making a run to the Mountain West Conference Championship. The committee left them out, despite many experts thinking they were worthy. Do not fret though, as their season is not over yet. Many teams that miss the NCAA Tournament, play in the NIT, but Boise State decided to not go that route and instead play in a new tournament that is happening for the first time this year. Beginning March 31 in Las Vegas, the Broncos will play in the inaugural 16-team tournament, The College Basketball Crown. The tournament will run between March 31 and end with the championship game on April 6. The Broncos will play their first game against George Washington on March 31 at 3:30 PM, and that game can be seen on FS1.
Washington State and Utah to Play in New College Basketball Tournament
Boise State will not be the only team in the region playing in the new tournament, as the Washington State Cougars and the Utah Utes will be among the 16 teams playing as well. With Vegas being less than a day's drive from Boise and Utah, it should make it easy for fans to travel and cheer on their teams. While a further drive for Washington State fans, it isn't a bad flight and is a great excuse to go to Sin City. Washington State will play against Georgetown on March 31 at 9 PM, and Utah will play against Butler on the same day, with their game tipping off at 1 PM. Both games can also be seen on FS1.

While it may not be the tournament that these teams were hoping to play in at the end of the season, the seniors and players get to continue playing ball, and hopefully one of them will lift the trophy and be the first ever champions of the College Basketball Crown.
