Have You Gotten A Ticket in This Idaho Town?
There are certain rules and laws that everyone knows. You aren't allowed to steal, murder, and speed are all laws that everyone knows, but some laws sometimes slip through the cracks and nobody seems to be aware of them. Perhaps they are rules that you know, but they never seem to be enforced so nobody obeys them. Jaywalking is breaking the law, yet it is rarely enforced and is a prime example of a rule you know but likely don't always obey. There are many other laws like this, but what happens when all of a sudden these laws are being enforced by law enforcement? One town in Idaho is enforcing a law that many break and it has residents upset when receiving tickets.
Idaho Town Enforcing Unusual Law
There are certain laws that you learn in driver's education, but the more you drive, the more of them you obey less and less. Some of them are more enforced than others like speeding, fully stopping at a stoplight or stop sign, and driving recklessly or drunk. There are many other rules that you are taught, but over time you may forget, or realize that they aren't as enforced as others. One of these rules is when it comes to parking. By law, when parking on the street, you should be facing the same direction as traffic. Some will from time to time park their vehicle facing the wrong way, which technically is against the law, but rarely is enforced. Recently, a town in the Magic Valley has begun enforcing this law and has issued a few tickets to residents who have had their vehicles facing the wrong way.
Illegal Parking in Idaho
This is one of those rules that most drivers know, but often out of laziness people will park in front of their own home or a friend's house facing the wrong direction instead of turning around. While it may not seem like a big deal, it means at some point the driver was driving against traffic, as well as when they leave they will have to do so again or pull a U-turn. Recently in Buhl, a few residents have gotten ticketed for this, meaning law enforcement has begun cracking down on this law that is rarely enforced. One resident who was ticketed took to Facebook to express their frustration and revealed their ticket cost $4. This may not always be the case as in some places you can be ticketed up to $300 for breaking this law according to the-sun.com. The next time you get home or visit a friend where you park on the street, take a few seconds, turn around, or go around the block, and make sure your vehicle is facing the proper direction. Not doing so could lead to an unexpected ticket and one you didn't want.
