How You Can Still Get Maxie’s Pizza in Twin Falls
A Slice of Twin Falls History: Maxie's Pizza & Pasta
Maxie’s Pizza & Pasta was more than just another pizza joint—it was a beloved Twin Falls staple. Known for its unique pizza recipes, Maxie's became a local legend, offering flavors and combinations that haven’t been duplicated since. Many still rank it among the top pizza places that should make a comeback, alongside other long-gone favorites like The Hangar Restaurant at the Twin Falls airport and Me-N-Ed’s, once a fixture on Blue Lakes Boulevard where Fred Meyer’s gas station now stands.
Pizza and Pasta Worth Remembering
Maxie’s didn’t just excel at pizza—their pasta dishes were equally unforgettable. A standout favorite was their lasagna, served in a boat-shaped dish, piping hot, and delightfully on the soupy side. It was a unique dining experience that left a lasting impression on those who had the chance to try it.
A Second Location Many Forgot
While the Twin Falls location may be the one most people remember, Maxie’s also operated a second spot in Kimberly. And here’s something you may not know—you can still enjoy Maxie’s recipes today, even after their original location quietly closed its doors in April 2022.
Monterey Jack’s: Maxie’s Legacy Lives On
When Maxie’s retired in 2022, they left behind a legacy, but the food didn’t disappear. The Kimberly location, rebranded as Monterey Jack’s, has been under the same ownership since 1987 and continues to serve the same Maxie’s-style pizzas and pastas.
In fact, Monterey Jack’s menu still proudly declares:
All pizzas are made with our Maxie’s rich marinara sauce, unless you choose ranch dressing, white garlic, or BBQ sauce.
Same Great Taste, Different Name
Monterey Jack’s continues to offer classic combos that made Maxie’s famous, such as the Sour Pig and the Idaho Spud. So while the atmosphere of the original Twin Falls location may be gone, the flavors and family-owned dining experience live on in Kimberly, where you can still grab takeout or sit down for a meal that carries on the Maxie’s tradition.
