Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Interstate 15

On Friday, June 21, 2024, the Idaho State Police (ISP) responded to a tragic single-vehicle crash on Interstate 15, near milepost 53, just south of Inkom. The incident occurred at approximately 7:34 p.m.

Details of the Incident

A 42-year-old man from McCammon was riding a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound when he lost control and veered into the median. The motorcycle overturned, resulting in the rider suffering fatal injuries at the scene. Notably, the rider was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

Serious Injury Crash on State Highway 3

Earlier on the same day, June 21, 2024, at around 2:54 p.m., another serious crash occurred on State Highway 3 near milepost 53 in Shoshone County. The Idaho State Police were called to the scene of a rollover collision involving two vehicles.

Collision Details

A 19-year-old man from Saint Maries, Idaho, was driving a grey 2019 Toyota Tacoma when he collided with a grey 2013 Chevrolet Equinox driven by a 32-year-old man from Pullman, Washington. The driver of the Toyota, who was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital. The driver of the Chevrolet, who was wearing a seatbelt, escaped without apparent injuries.

Traffic Disruptions

The collision led to significant traffic disruptions on US 95, blocking both directions for about an hour and a half. Emergency responders diverted traffic along an alternate route until the roadway was reopened roughly three hours after the crash.
