The holiday season is fast approaching. Christmas decorations are in stores, music has begun in some places, and decorations are already being put out. Christmas lights are on in some neighborhoods already, shopping for presents has begun, and soon Santa will be in the mall for children to sit on his lap. Meanwhile, Thanksgiving is still weeks away, yet everyone in Idaho appears to be skipping this year's holiday and going straight to Christmas. While the holiday season is the best time of the year, there are those in Idaho who are ruining it already by taking things too far in November.

Before you get upset, this article is not about the right time to decorate outside for Christmas. As stated at this link, the weather will dictate when is the right time to hang lights and do decertations outside. For those that have their home already looking festive outside, congratulations, you avoided the cold this year. For those who are yet to do it, there are a few windows in the weather to do so without getting frostbite. Decorating for the holidays in November in Idaho is a necessity, as it is often too cold to do so in December, and too windy. Some prefer to wait until after Thanksgiving, but due to the weather, it is best to do so before. While decorating outside is acceptable, there is one-holiday sin that some have committed, and is borderline offensive.

Christmas Trees in Idaho

With Halloween having been on a Thursday this year, some took that as a hint to take down their spooky decorations inside and outside of their homes that weekend. This was not a bad plan, as the weather was nice, and a good chance to switch the outdoor decorations. The issue is that some took it another step, and have already put up their Christmas trees, despite not being a week into November. There is nothing to go under the tree, stores are not selling trees, and if anyone did decide to use a real one, it likely won't make it to Christmas. With stores not selling them yet, it should be a hint that the first weekend of November is too soon to be putting a tree up. Driving around the Gem State, there are a decent amount of homes with Christmas trees in their windows, and this is unacceptable.

While the holiday season is fantastic and it is understandable to want a home to represent the holidays to bring in that cheer, putting up a Christmas tree is a tad much this early into November. A child should not be going through their Halloween candy under the Christmas tree. At the end of the day, it is up to each family when and how they decorate, but Christmas trees should wait a tad longer to go up.
