This Business is Growing Quickly in ID, WA and UT
Lately, it seems that many businesses are closing. Far too many companies have been closing locations and going out of business, and leave customers scratching their heads as to what is going on. While it is sad to see the ones closing, some are growing and thriving in today's world, and one particular business appears to be growing more and more each day. It is growing so much that new locations are being built all over Idaho, Washington and Utah. What business is growing in these three states, and why is it so successful in 2025?
Storage Units in Idaho, Washington, and Utah
Look around the area and think back to five or ten years ago. While much has likely changed, you will realize there are many more storage units than there used to be. They are popping up everywhere, and for anyone who has needed one recently, you know that most of the units are full. According to a recent study by storagecafe.com, around 33 percent of Americans are using storage units currently, with another 18 percent expected to use one in the future. Renters use them more often than homeowners, although the percentage is closer than you would think. While 34 percent of renters use storage units, 30 percent of homeowners do as well.
Renting a Storage Unit in Idaho, Washington, and Utah
Who is renting all the storage units in these states? According to the study, 42 percent are baby boomers, with 50 percent of Gen Z planning to rent a unit shortly. The thought is the older the generation, the more things they have collected and need a unit to keep them stored. Out of those using units, 42 percent said their homes feel cluttered, with clothing being the main item taking up space. Instead of selling these items or throwing them out, they are deciding to store them instead. If clothes end up in a storage unit, they likely aren't going to be worn again by the person who owns them. The top two reasons for using a storage unit are not enough room at home and moving. Some other reasons given are downsizing, home renovation, or storing for business purposes.

If you need a storage unit, good luck as most appear to be full, but the good news is that many new ones are being built, so as long as you can wait, a unit should be available as soon as a new place opens. If you are looking for a good business investment, opening a storage unit might be the way to go in Idaho, Washington, and Utah. To read the full study, make sure to click on the link above.
