Over the last few years many stores, restaurants, and companies have been closing their doors, to the dismay of their customers. Popular places that many enjoy eating at, shopping with, and using, have closed locations nationwide, and some have gone out of business. Since the pandemic of 2020, many places have struggled financially and shopping habits changed as many went strictly to online shopping, hurting many of these places. Three businesses have decided to close all their locations, and states like Idaho, Washington, and Utah are all being affected by the closures.

The popular surfing and snowboarding clothing store Quicksilver has gone out of business and has closed all of its locations in Idaho. It was announced earlier this year that the retail store would be filing for bankruptcy and closing all its locations. The main reasons for the bankruptcy were a change in inflammation demands and a change in consumer spending habits. The company is based out of Costa Mesa, California, and is owned by the company Liberated Brands. Because Liberated Brands has filed for bankruptcy, Quicksilver is not the only popular retail store that has closed, as their other brands have closed as well. Quicksilver did not have a location in Washington but did have their brother brands there.

Liberated Brands has closed all their other stores as well, which means if you enjoy shopping at stores like Volcom and Billabong you will be sad to know they too have filed for bankruptcy. While these stores have closed their locations, that doesn't mean you can't buy their clothes as they still have a presence online and will look to continue offering great clothes on their sites. For some, this will be good news, but for others, it will be inconvenient as they prefer to try on something before purchasing it. The closure of these stores has cost many their jobs, as has been happening with far too many companies lately.

If you are looking to get surfing and snowboarding clothes make sure to click on the links above for your favorite brand, and you can browse for what they have. For more on the three stores going out of business, make sure to click the link in the second paragraph above. Sadly, these likely will not be the last popular retail stores to close this year, but hopefully others that follow suit can also keep an online presence like these three.
