The motorcycle was traveling west on US Highway 12 when a mechanical issue believed to be a rear tire failure caused the vehicle to lose control. Both riders were ejected from the motorcycle. Emergency responders arrived swiftly, and both individuals were transported via air ambulance to a nearby hospital.
The male operator remains in critical condition, while, tragically, the female passenger succumbed to her injuries on August 14, 2024. Traffic on the highway was slowed for approximately four hours as emergency crews worked to assist the victims and clear the scene.
