
Fatal and Serious Accidents on Idaho Highways This Weekend
According to a press release, the Idaho State Police is investigating one serious and one fatal accident that occurred on Idaho Highways over the weekend.
Single-Vehicle Fatal Crash Near Cocolalla
Idaho State Police (ISP) is investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision that occurred around 8:45 a.m. on February 2, 2025, on US 95 near milepost 460, just south of Cocolalla in Bonner County, Idaho.
Crash Details
A black 2015 Ford F-150, driven by a 45-year-old man from Post Falls, Idaho, was traveling northbound when he lost control of the vehicle. The truck veered across the southbound lanes and collided with a tree on the shoulder of the roadway. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Response and Investigation
Southbound traffic on US 95 was partially blocked for approximately two hours as emergency crews responded. The driver’s next of kin has been notified. This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
Two-Vehicle Crash in Jerome Sends Four to Hospital
Incident Overview
Idaho State Police is also investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at 8:25 a.m. on South Lincoln Road at the intersection of W Avenue East in Jerome County.
Crash Details
An 18-year-old male from Jerome, Idaho, was driving a 2018 Kia Stinger southbound on South Lincoln Road with two passengers. A 65-year-old male, also from Jerome, was driving a 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 northbound on the same road. The Kia collided head-on with the Dodge as the Dodge was making a left-hand turn. The Kia came to rest on the right shoulder, while the Dodge remained in the lanes of travel.
Injuries and Response
The driver and front passenger of the Kia, as well as the driver of the Dodge, were wearing seatbelts. The rear passenger of the Kia was not wearing a seatbelt. All occupants of both vehicles were transported via ground ambulance to local hospitals.
The southbound lane of Lincoln Road was blocked for approximately three and a half hours while emergency responders assisted those involved and cleared the scene.
