Vehicle Collision on US95 Under Investigation

Idaho State Police is investigating a vehicle collision that occurred on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 11:09 P.M. The accident took place on US95 at mile marker 3, in Owyhee County.

Details of the Incident

A Jeep Cherokee was traveling northbound on US95, while a Dodge Ram was heading southbound. The collision occurred when the driver of the Jeep crossed the center line, resulting in a head-on crash with the Ram.

Casualties and Injuries

The driver of the Dodge Ram, a 60-year-old man from Post Falls, tragically succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver of the Jeep, a 32-year-old woman from Boise, was transported by ground to a local hospital for treatment.

Emergency Response and Road Closure

The southbound lane of US95 was blocked for approximately three hours. This closure allowed emergency responders to assist the individuals involved and clear the scene safely.

Ongoing Investigation

The Idaho State Police is collaborating with the Owyhee County Coroner to notify the next of kin. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
