For some in the Magic Valley, school started this week, thus ending summer vacation. However, the good news is that there is plenty of fun to be had on weekends at the end of the week. For others, this is their final weekend of summer, meaning they are looking to enjoy some final summer fun before the school year begins. Some fun events are happening this weekend around the Magic Valley to get out and celebrate the end of summer or the first week of school being done.

Thursday, August 14, Through Saturday, August 16 - Gooding Fair and Pro Rodeo

Who doesn't enjoy a fair and a good rodeo on a weekend in August? The Gooding County Fair is ongoing and will continue through Saturday, where you can get out and have some fun. While fried food is the headliner for some, the Pro Rodeo will be the headliner for most. If you enjoy rodeos, which you should living in Idaho, then make sure to check out this weekend's Pro Rodeo at the fair. Thursday, August 14, Through Sunday, August 17 - 'Much Ado About Nothing'

Going to the theatre is always a special time, and with the weather expected to be warm this weekend, it isn't a bad idea to cool off while enjoying a play. This weekend, 'Much Ado About Nothing' will be performed at the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Twin Falls. There will be performances on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Friday, August 15 and Saturday, August 16 - Pickin' on the Pavement

The Magic Valley is filled with many treasures and antiques, but if you don't know where to look, you might be missing out. Friday, August 15 and Saturday, August 16 - Joe Mama's Car Show

There are some amazing cars in the Magic Valley. Some classics, some rare cars, and they are all worth showing off. If you enjoy car shows, this weekend is the one you have been waiting for. The annual Joe Mama's Car Show will be happening this Friday and Saturday, beginning at 3 PM on Friday at Con Paulos Chevrolet. There will be a cruise on Friday, live music, a taco eating contest, a burnout contest, and a beer garden, and that is all for the first night. Friday, August 15 - CSI Women's Soccer

It is that time once again. Time to get out, smell the cut grass, and cheer on the local CSI women's soccer team. Their season will kick off with a home game this Friday at 5:30 PM when they take on The College of Idaho. This will be just the second season for the girls' team, and last year they went 5-8-3. Friday, August 15 - Sushi Class

Do you enjoy eating sushi? Have you always wanted to learn how to make it, but are afraid you won't do it right? This weekend, you can finally learn how to make sushi at home by attending the sushi class at Rudy's this Friday, beginning at 5:30 PM. The class costs $55 per person, and you will learn how to make shrimp tempura, learn how to sharpen your knives, and learn master plating techniques. Saturday, August 16 - Market on Main

Going to the farmer's market in the summer in Idaho is always a great way to spend a Saturday morning, but sadly, those days are coming to an end. This weekend will mark the final day of the season for Market on Main in downtown Twin Falls. The market will be from 9 AM to 2 PM, and you can browse the market, shop at the local stores, enjoy live music, and eat lunch at one of the local restaurants. Saturday, August 16 and Sunday, August 17 - Magic Valley Air Show

Have you heard them flying overhead this week? Have you seen them? The Blue Angels are in town this weekend for the Magic Valley Airshow, and it all takes place on Saturday and Sunday at the Magic Valley Regional Airport. The gate will open both days at 9 AM, and the show will go until 4 PM each day, with performances beginning at 11 AM. If you have never been, you are in for a treat. Saturday, August 16 - Movie Matinee

Going to the movies is always a great way to spend a weekend, but one thing that makes it better is when it is free. Every Saturday at the Twin Falls Public Library, they have Movie Matinee, which is a free movie at 3 PM. Through August, they are doing Retro by Decades and showing a movie from a different decade each weekend. This weekend, they will be showing 'Batteries Not Included', which came out in 1987. Saturday, August 16 - Free Family Movie Night

If one free movie isn't good enough, how about two? Free Family Movie Night will be happening at the Twin Falls County Fairgrounds in Filer this Saturday from 7 PM to 10 PM.
