What Would You Do? Escaping Twin Falls for a Weekend Road Trip
What would you do? What would you do if you needed a weekend away from Twin Falls? Where would you go? There are multiple options, and the time of year may dictate your choice. When it comes to leaving on a Friday afternoon and coming back Sunday night type of trip, what is your preference? Would you go up to Sun Valley and enjoy the mountains? Would you go to Idaho Falls and or Yellowstone? You could go to Boise and hang out in the city, or perhaps you want to escape the state and head south to Salt Lake City for a weekend in a bigger city that may have more to offer. How much does the time of year matter? Sun Valley may be more appealing in the winter, whereas Salt Lake City may be more appealing in the summer. Do you escape to the close by South Hills and camp for a bit? If you needed to escape town for only the weekend, what would you do?
Weekend Trips Near Twin Falls
When it comes to taking a weekend trip near Twin Falls, there are plenty of options, depending on the weather and how far you are willing to drive. During the winter, you may want to go snowboarding or skiing and escape to Pomerelle or Sun Valley. Both aren't far but will allow you to escape and stay the weekend or return home and sleep in your bed after escaping for the day. You could go to Boise and spend the weekend shopping, attending a Boise State game, seeing friends and family, or doing several activities. The drive isn't too bad and you could stay all weekend or return later that night. Yellowstone is within a day's drive and you could leave Friday after work, get in late, and then enjoy some hiking and exploring on Saturday, before returning on Sunday. You could go down to Salt Lake City and take in many sporting events, shop at stores or eat at some restaurants not in Idaho, or even go to the mountains down there. In the summer you could go to Lagoon. Maybe your ideal escape is to keep it simple and find a nice place nearby to camp, fish, or hunt. But when it comes to deciding, it isn't always easy.
Choosing the Best Twin Falls Getaway
When it comes to doing a city, Salt Lake is likely the better destination, as the drive is somewhat prettier, and there is a little more to do. Unless you are seeing somebody in Boise, Salt Lake offers more shopping, more theme parks, more sporting events, and has things you can't find in Boise, like Ikea, and In N Out. In terms of hitting the slopes, the weather may be more of a factor, or which ski resort is your preference. Most residents of Twin Falls already have their favorite camping, fishing, kayaking, or hunting areas, so your favorite place is your best bet. There are other options for getting away for the weekend, but drive time needs to be put into account, which is why these destinations are the most likely ones.
We all need some time away from time to time. Perhaps you are somebody that would rather stay home and sleep in your bed, but odds are you won't relax as much as you should. As the weather gets a little warmer and spring gets into full swing, find a free weekend to get out of town and have a little fun away from your routine. Don't stress and make it too hard to decide where to go. When you finally do take that weekend trip, what would you do?
