What Would You Do? Hearing Gunshots Nearby in the Magic Valley

What would you do? What would you do if you were running errands, driving to get food, or driving home from work and heard gunshots near you? Would you speed up and try to get away? Would you slam your breaks and look around? Would you go towards them and see if someone needs help? Would you be curious and want to see what is happening? If you saw them being fired, would that change what you decide to do? Shootings have been happening too often in the Magic Valley and some in the area have had to decide what to do when hearing shots being fired, but if you are in this situation, what would you do?

Shots Fired in the Magic Valley

Over the past couple of weeks, there have been multiple nights of shots being fired in the Magic Valley, specifically in Twin Falls. While some are asleep when this is happening, and many are at home, it is scary for those out to hear shots being fired, not knowing what is going on. Some have witnessed these shots, some have listened to them, and others have no clue at all they happened. If you are walking out of a store or driving and hear them, you have a few decisions to make. Do you call the police? Do you go and investigate? Do you run away? Do you continue like nothing has happened at all? It is one of those situations where you think you know what you will do, but until it happens, it is tough to know what you will be feeling at the moment. 

What to do If Shots Are Fired in the Magic Valley

If you see or hear shots fired in the Magic Valley, common sense should be to call the cops, get to a safe place, and try to avoid the area. Common sense doesn't win out as often as you would think though, especially in today's world. Everyone wants to be the first one to record a video and post it online, or to be the first person to know the information on why shots are being fired. Running towards the situation to investigate is an option, but it isn't a smart one. Sometimes people want to play hero and check to see if someone is hurt and if they can help them, which is heroic and brave, but puts you in danger if the shooter is still present.

Hopefully, the shootings in the area will stop, and you won't experience hearing shots fired in city limits anytime soon. There have been far too many of these instances lately, and they need to end. If by chance you are unfortunate to be nearby and see or hear them though, what would you do?
