Former ID Football Player Needs Help Going to the Olympics
We all grow up having goals, but sadly, many of us fall short of them. Perhaps when you were a child, you wanted to be an astronaut, a superhero, a firefighter, or something else. Now that you are an adult, you may be disappointed not to have reached your goal. For some, they never truly attempted to achieve it, while others were unrealistic, or perhaps you tried and got denied. One goal that many have in life is to one day be an Olympian and win a gold medal for their country, and one Idaho man needs your help to make this happen.
Former Idaho Football Player Trying to Become an Olympian
Only a select few people in history can claim to be gold medalist Olympians, but even having the chance to compete is rare and an accomplishment in itself. One Idaho man is currently trying to represent the United States and the state of Idaho at the next Winter Olympics. Andy Whittier, a former football player at Idaho State University, is in the process of chasing his dream of competing in skeleton at the games. Whittier is from Pocatello and has been training and trying to raise funds. He is the back-to-back national push champion and was the overall winner of the North American Cup for the 2024-2025 season. While there are tons of hours, days, and hard work that go into getting to the Olympics, there is also money needed as well, and this is where Whittier needs your help.
Help Support Idaho Man in Olympic Dream
When it comes to the Olympics, there are financial demands that most people do not realize. There is travel, lodging, race fees, sled maintenance, groceries, rental cars, gym fees, track fees, and Airbnb stays. It all adds up over time. Because of how much goes into trying to make the Olympics, it isn't always easy to get the funds necessary. Andy is asking for help from the Idaho community, and a GoFundMe page has been started to help him raise what he needs. The goal is $2,600, and if you are able and willing, every amount helps this Idahoan get closer to his dream and represent the Gem State and the United States on the biggest stage.

If you want to donate, make sure to click the link in the paragraph above. No matter how big or small, every amount helps. Let's help get Andy Whittier to the Olympics and then cheer him on in 2026.
