
Idaho Search and Rescue Member Seriously Injured in Motorcycle Accident
Over the long holiday weekend, the Idaho State Police reported three separate serious accidents on Idaho highways.
Four people were taken by air ambulance to local hospitals, three others were taken by ground ambulance, and one of the accidents was fatal for the rider of an ATV/UTV in Southern Idaho.
Drivers from Idaho, Oregon, Florida, and Texas Involved in Idaho Highway Holiday Accidents
The fatal accident happened late on July 3rd, around 10 PM, near Anderson Ranch Reservoir in Elmore County. The male driver of a 2026 Kawasaki ATV/UTV lost control on a curve. The man passed away at the scene of the accident. Two passengers in the vehicle were taken by air ambulance to a local hospital.

The second serious accident of the weekend happened at 12:19 PM on the 4th of July on SH 21 near mile marker 31. The crash involved two vehicles, a motorcycle and an SUV.

The Idaho State Police shared the following report:
An orange 2025 KTM 390 driven by a 27-year-old male from Idaho City, who is a Boise City Search and Rescue unit, was traveling southbound on State Highway 21.
A blue Ford Bronco driven by a 46-year-old male from Medford, Oregon was driving southbound on State Highway 21.
For some reason, the KTM ran into the back of the Bronco. The driver of the bike was taken by air ambulance to a hospital. The driver of the Bronco was not injured. ISP are investigating the cause of the accident.
In the third accident of the holiday weekend, drivers and passengers from Texas and Florida were injured, requiring hospitalization. The collision happened on July 6th, a few minutes before noon, between Arco and Rexburg at the SH 28 and SH 22 intersection.
A 23-year-old female from Georgetown, Texas, driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 67-year-old male passenger, was traveling west on State Highway 22 when she failed to stop at the stop sign.
A 51-year-old male from Crestview, Florida, driving a Jeep Gladiator with a 45-year-old female passenger, was traveling east on State Highway 28 when his vehicle was struck by the Jeep in the intersection.
The driver from the Gladiator and both occupants of the Jeep Grand Cherokee were taken to a local hospital by ground ambulance. The female passenger from the Gladiator was taken to a hospital by air ambulance.
UPDATE: Since the publishing of this story, the Idaho State Police reported another fatal accident on Highway 26 in Bonneville County.
