LOOK: Dangerous Roads Reported Between Twin Falls, Burley, and Boise

We did not get our White Christmas in Southern Idaho, but Mother Nature is delivering her gift a day late. The roads around Southern Idaho are coated in slick new snow or freshly melted snow and it’s causing dangerous road conditions.

UPDATE: Idaho 511 cameras show that traffic has started moving and the incident has been removed from the website. If a police report is released, we will update this story.

There is currently (as of 1 PM 12/26/23) an accident blocking all lanes on I-84 Westbound near Valley Road at milepost 183. The report says there are 20 cars involved in the accident including at least one semi truck. An alternate route, like Highway 50, into Twin Falls will need to be used.

The Roads are Slick Around Southern Idaho After Snow

According to the weather report, snow will continue to fall until around 4 PM Tuesday in Twin Falls. The constant snowfall will continue to make the roads slick and dangerous in some places in town and along the highways. There are reports of slide-offs and accidents on the highway between Twin Falls, Glenns Ferry, Mountain Home, and Boise. Emergency responders are also advising drivers to take extra care, only drive if necessary, and to check the Idaho 511 app for road conditions.
