Second Fatal Semi Truck Accident Reported in the Magic Valley on Monday
There were 2 separate fatal accidents in Southern Idaho involving semi-truck crashes on the final day of September.
One accident south of Twin Falls claimed the life of a 19-year-old passenger and the second was fatal for a 43-year-old female driver in Jerome.
Woman From Jerome Killed in Semi Truck Crash
Idaho State Police responded to a second fatal accident involving a semi-truck on Monday in the Magic Valley around 9AM in Jerome. The crash happened at the 500 N and 100 E intersection. In the report from the Idaho State Police it states:
A 26-year-old male from Wendell, Idaho, was traveling southbound on 500 North in a 2007 Freightliner Semi pulling a 2018 trailer. A 43-year-old female, from Jerome, Idaho, was eastbound on 100 East, in a 2002 Saturn SL1 passenger car. The male in the semi failed to stop at the stop sign and the Saturn passenger car ran into the semi’s trailer. The driver of the Saturn succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
The male driver of the semi was arrested for vehicular manslaughter.
The driver of the Freightliner was wearing a seatbelt and the female driving the Saturn was not.
Idaho State Police reported a separate fatal accident involving a semi-truck about 30 minutes earlier in Twin Falls, south of the airport. In that crash, a young man was killed and 2 other men were injured when the truck they were in rolled.
