The Idaho State Police have released a sad update on a large accident that happened earlier this week on the highway between Twin Falls and Pocatello.

The original story about a multi-car accident involving around 30 vehicles on Monday did not include any fatalities. At the time it was stated that minor injuries were reported and only one person was transported by ambulance, but 1 man injured in the accident has now passed away at a hospital in Utah.

Police now report the following:

Of those injured, a 66-year-old American Falls man was transported to a local hospital and transferred to Utah for medical attention. Unfortunately, the man succumbed to his injuries. The identity of the 66-year-old will be released by a Medical Examiner who will also determine the cause and manner of death.

At this time, troopers continue investigating the circumstances around the incident. Due to the nature and scope of the event, it will take time to analyze all the evidence.
