Female Motorcycle Driver Killed in Northern Idaho After Hitting a Semi Truck
Idaho State Police responded to a motorcycle vs semi truck accident on Tuesday morning in northern Idaho.
On Tuesday morning around 11:14, Idaho State Police responded to a fatality accident on US 12 in Idaho County near milepost 104. The ISP Blog states:
A 57 year-old female from Camrose County, Alberta, driving a Yamaha motorcycle, was traveling westbound on US12. A 32 year-old male from Kamiah, Idaho, driving a Peterbilt semi-truck, was traveling eastbound on US12. The preliminary investigation indicates that the rider of the motorcycle crossed left of center and collided head-on with the semi-truck. The driver of the semi-truck was transported to a local hospital via air ambulance. The rider of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased on scene. Evidence indicates the motorcycle rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and the driver of the semi-truck was not using a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Idaho State Police are investigating the accident. The traffic on US 12 was blocked in both directions for about 8 hours.
2 Vehicle Crash Near Pocatello Kills 1 and Sends 2 to Hospital
Idaho State Police responded to a 2-vehicle accident on Tuesday near Pocatello. The accident happened around 12:43 PM on State Highway 39 at milepost 15 in Bingham County. On the ISP blog site, this information was shared:
A 23-year-old male from Blackfoot, Idaho, was driving northbound in a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado. A 38-year-old male was driving southbound in a 2005 Ford F150. The vehicles collided head-on.
In the Ford was a 29-year-old male passenger from Pocatello, Idaho. Neither occupant of the Ford was wearing a seat belt. The passenger was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The driver was transported by private vehicle to a local hospital. The driver of the Chevrolet was wearing a seat belt. He was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital.
The highway was blocked for 4 hours and the accident remains under investigation.
